It’s Never Too Late

I always thought that concept was sort of silly. Of course, it’s too late for a lot of things, but the reality is it’s not late for everything.mm

We all have things we hope and dream of. I have always wished that if I had one talent, it would be to be able to sing.mm

Music is life for me. I am always playing music in my house and in my car.

Singing though, was reserved for alone time because I can’t really sing. Or so I thought.

The biggest musical rip off is that I know a ridiculous amount of lyrics, especially to 80’s songs. It must have been from all that vinyl record playing that drove my sister insane.

My capacity for recalling lyrics far surpasses anything else that should be stored in my memory.

After all of these years of not being able to sing well, I decided to try and change that. I have always heard that our voices are an instrument that anyone can learn to play.

So I recently started taking lessons and I’m hopeful that with time and practice, I can be the songbird I’ve always wanted to be.

Years ago when Ann Landers had a column she had someone write in and it has always stuck with me.

(includ the Ann Landers part about being a doctor)

I may have not been born with the voice of an angel, but one thing I’ve learned over the years, is that practice and perseverance trumps natural talent any day of the week.

So taking singing lessons is a gift to myself. One that if all goes well, will stay with me forever.

hope if you still have something you’ve always wanted to do, you realize it’s never too late and you too find the courage to take the next step to fulfilling your dream.

A wish is just a wish without action. (I hope you find the courage blah blah)
